It’s a beautiful, somewhat lazy day here on the East Coast and while doing some Facebook shit, someone posted this picture and, well, it’s not only interesting but pretty damned funny!
I do remember hearing this way back when teens first started wearing their pants like this… and the reason notwithstanding, it was really shocking to see guys traipsing down the street and showing everyone their fucking underwear.
I told my children that they better not even think about following this trend and, yeah, I spent some time in my neighborhood making the young “thugs” pull their damned pants up.
What I wonder is if the dudes (and even a few dudettes) even realize where this originated and why…
Yeah, there’s that whole “younger generation” culture thing and, to that end, I’ll admit to being old-fashioned because, seriously, the only time I’m gonna show you my drawers is when I’m inside and while I’m not in the least bit shy or care a whole lot about being modest, even I wouldn’t go outside with my underwear showing; if my house was on fire and I had to get out, I’d fucking put some pants on at the very least.
For us older folks, it says a few things, like, you don’t have any home training and your parent(s) wasn’t all that interested in giving any training on how to dress in public. It says that you not only don’t have any respect for the people around you, you don’t even have any respect for yourself and, no, just because they’re clean and paid for doesn’t mean anyone wants to see them.
But, again, I wonder if they really know that wearing their pants like this says to everyone who sees them, “I want some dick in my ass – come and get it!” If some of them knew this, ha, it just might make them pull their damned pants up quick, fast, and in a hurry, huh? Sure, they might argue and insist that it’s just a fashion statement but, yeah, it does advertise big time, doesn’t it?
You see this, ah, fashion statement in concert with thug mentality, like damn near having your pants down around your ankles is a sign that you’re a tough and hard motherfucker and, yeah, it makes you man enough to flash your ass to anyone who cares to look at it and if it gives them some ideas on what to do with said ass, well, the thug code kinda allows for that… so maybe they do know what they’re telling everyone who has the misfortune of seeing them?
I thought I’d take a few minutes and share this absurd behavior with y’all…

My son does this and I hate it. He has these one pair of pants and he says, “They’re made that way.” Yeah, whatever. I’m constantly having to tell hm to pull his pants up.

Tell him what it signifies and see how he reacts to that – could be kinda interesting and, of course, he’s dead wrong – they are not made that way…

MC, for a moment, I was wondering why you’d do this… until I realized that we’re not Facebook friends.

Because I absolutely can not stand the whole pants down below the ass look with the underwear sticking out and if this picture was a catalyst to make that thought process change 🙂 I like it! LOL 🙂

Well Rob and MC I have to agree with both of you. Here is another reason to ban this stupid practice. E Coli bacteria. The thin cotton material is not enough to protect us from E Coli bacteria that gets spread on anything that the guy sits on. I once saw a black guy sitting on a table at Taco Bell with his pants down like that and it really grossed me out.

It lacks class and couth and, as you say, the cleanliness factor is questionable and something no self-respecting person wants to be thinking about.
