How About That?

29 Sep

One of the things I’ve come to love about blogging is going back and reading stuff I’ve already written.  Sometimes, someone will come along and “Like” a blog or even comment on it… and I have to find it and read it again because, um, well, I write so much I can’t keep track of all of them in my head.

Sometimes I’ll re-read a past blog and think, “Wow, I wrote that?”  Sometimes I really do ask myself just what the fuck I was thinking about when I wrote the blog and, yeah, sometimes I’ll read on and, all after the fact, decide I didn’t like the way it was written.

So when someone liked “More Time in the Gutter,” I got a really confused look on my face for a moment.  I went looking for it, saw that I wrote it in June of this year and until I opened it and saw the first few words, I had no idea what it was about.  Oh, if you’re wondering, it was about eating pussy (yum).

So I re-read the blog and thought, “Wow, do I love eating pussy or what?”  It’s kinda weird; it’s one thing to know that I love doing it… but something slightly different to read something I wrote about it.  And, like I said, sometimes I have to ask myself, “You really wrote that, didn’t you?  Wow…”

Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or
go for a paid option? There are so many choices out
there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Kudos!

Hi, Cat and welcome! I’d have to say that if you just wanna write to get the hang of, say, writing whatever’s on your mind – and getting some feedback – sure, WordPress is a great place to start; it’s free and some of the bloggers here are published authors as well so you could get tips from them, too! As for, say, writing a book, er, ah, well, it sounds easy… but it isn’t even though it really starts with an idea, something that just pops into your head and, sometimes, you just start writing.

However, when you start getting into the guts of writing a book (or even a short story), you not only have to think about what you want to write but there’s writing style to consider, character development, etc. When I wrote my first published erotic book, it took me almost two years to finish writing it… and when the editor got their hands on it, it took another three months of doing all the corrections to style, dialog, modifying character behavior.
