From time to time, I share news items from my home state and from the city I was born in, speaking about the senseless crime and loss of life that is now running rampant throughout the county. The above article just popped into my RSS reader… and it’s about my niece who was, apparently, a victim of an online predator looking to woo women so that he could scope out whatever they had… and then rob them blind.
I first heard about this from her Facebook post and I had a few things to say to her about this… including my disbelief that she was dating such an ugly cuss; I know it’s hard to find ‘good men’ these days but, damn, this is really scraping the bottom of the barrel!
Anyone on the East Coast reading this, especially women, should read the article and heighten their awareness.

… my cousin travelled 800 miles to meet a man she had been talking to online and the phone for 8 months. After first weekend visit, he dropped her at airport. When she was inside she saw all her cash and cards gone from wallet. She got home to see that he had stole her jewelry, leather jacket and some clothes.
Scary.

And it sucks; the fuckers can’t do real work and choose to prey on women, the cowards…

kdaddy, I would bet there may be just as many women scamming men on those sites. …but the ladies have more of a physical threat to worry about to i suppose.

I would rather loose the money than my life – but yes, good for her for warning people and taking to the net to do so. there is no shame in trusting someone and believing them, she did nothing wrong but certainly worth an extra moments thought sometimes – even if it is waking someone up and telling them to get out because we are leaving for work.

Dear KD,
I’m very sorry to hear this article is in referance to your niece, family. What’s our society coming to? Sad very sad. I did not click the “like” button, how could I.

Thank you, Astral! You could have clicked “Like” if you liked the idea that you, as a woman, are being warned about these kinds of predators and you got to see what another woman had to say about her experience.
Sadly, there are too many people in our society who’d rather take the easy route – robbing someone else – than to actually do some real work and be an honest person.

I saw the one where they caught the guy and I am quite sure you told her about mind fucking. She’s okay and everything?
